Product Overview

Palora is a unique variety of yellow-skinned dragon fruit, known for its super sweet, white-fleshed fruit. The fruit begins green and turn yellow as it matures it is oval shaped and thorned, all thorns should fall off when ripe. On average the fruit on a Palora dragon fruit weighs approximately .8 pounds.

Self-Fertile- It can use its own pollen to set fruit.

Dragon fruit are a tropical fruiting cactus. Dragon fruit will not grow in cold climates, so make sure that the temperature is above 40 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent cold damage. Protect from hard freezes. Dragon fruit can be grown in containers or in the ground, planted in well-drained soil, full sun and trained to a heavy-duty trellis to support weight of this fast-growing plant. Avoid overplanting into very large containers, instead, gradually increase container size in relation to the plant size. We recommend a complete fertilizer during the growing season. Avoid overwatering in the winter to ensure the plant does not rot off.

All our dragon fruit plants have been greenhouse grown. When you receive your plants, please be patient in acclimating them to their new environment. This means slowly transitioning them from shade to full sun over a period of at least three weeks to avoid sun scald. This could take longer in extreme heat.

    DRAGON FRUIT PALORA PLANT

Posted by Scott T on Jul 24th 2020

I ordered four different dragon fruit varieties at the same time. The Palora plant is doing great. I have only had it for just over a month so I can't comment on the fruit yet. I was a little nervous about the shipping because I live in Northern California and it was the peak of summer heat. Turns out I was justified. The plants shipped out on a Tuesday and were delivered the following Monday, even though they shipped USPS 3-day Select. When I opened the box, the soil from the pots was scattered all over the box and was bone dry. A couple of the plants were lose and out of the pots. There was a small arrow drawn with a Sharpie on the side indicating which direction should be up, but this was completely ignored by the USPS (it was left on my porch on its side). I hope they improve the shipping. For the $26 charged for shipping and handling, these could have easily shipped UPS and been here in 2 days instead of 6. 5 stars for the plant; 3 stars for the shipping/handing

The quality of the plants was excellent but my first shipment was probably damaged by the postal service. The second shipment arrived intact. The first damaged plants are developing tiny new growth. The second shipment are smaller and younger lookin
